The Chillicothe Evening Lions Club will be conducting their raffle drawing in front of our iHeart Media Building on Main Street at 10am Monday.
The first prize is $1,000 and there are five runner-up prizes of $100 each.
All money the club earns is used to fund eyesight conservation and several state and local activities.
Included are 5 scholarships, the Good Samaritan Food Bank, Central Ohio Lions Eyebank, Ohio Lions Eye Research, Ohio Diabetes Awareness, Project for Canine Companions, SATH/Kamp Dovetail, Ross County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and Assistance House.
Other contributions are also made during each year.
More than 90 members strong, the club normally donates between $20,000 and $30,000 each year, and the raffle is an important part of their fund-raising efforts.
Other fund raising projects include Lions Shelter House Fish and Tenderloin Frys, A Ross County Fair Food Booth, and the placement of more than 800 flags in the Chillicothe area on eight holidays each year.
