(24/7 News)  --  A federal judge is approving the massive merger between AT&T and Time Warner.  The Justice Department sued to block AT&T's 85-billion-dollar buyout of Time Warner, citing antitrust concerns and possible higher prices for consumers.

AT&T's lawyer said the company hopes to close the deal on or before June 20th so they can give consumers more affordable and innovative video entertainment.  Meantime, an attorney for the Justice Department said they still believe the market will be less competitive and less innovative because of the merger.

The DOJ is reviewing what steps it can take following the ruling.
