The Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported a single-vehicle injury crash on State Route 279, east of Oak Hill in Jackson County, at about 10:57pm Saturday.
26-year-old Daniel Walker of Oak Hill failed to negotiate a curve in a 2003 Toyota Rav-4 while eastbound near Williams Road. He traveled off the right side of the roadway and down an embankment where the vehicle overturned.
Walker was trapped for a short time before being extracted by Jackson County Fire/EMS. Walker was flown by MedFlight to St. Mary’s Hospital in West Virginia where his condition is unknown.
Alcohol and drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Jackson County EMS/fire personnel, Oak Hill Police Department and MedFlight.
