The sacrifices made by American military members are being celebrated today.
Memorial Day observances are scheduled in several communities, including the Olde Time Memorial Day Parade in Bainbridge, where you can decorate your bike, trike or wagon and line up at 1:30 for the 1:45 parade and Ceremony in the Cemetery at 2.
Veterans organizations host their annual series of memorial services around Chillicothe and Ross County. The big production is in Grandview Cemetery at 9 a.m.
Then they're on to St. Margaret's Cemetery at 10, Greenlawn Cemetery at 11 a.m and 11:30 a.m., Rowland Cemetery across from the farigrounds at noon, and Floral Hills Cemetery on US 23 south at 1 p.m.
The holiday also means all government offices and banks are closed today with no mail service or trash collections.
