Arguments for Separate Trials May Delay Fisher Trial

In a Common Pleas courtroom hearing Friday morning, an attorney for Jeff Fisher argued that a single trial should not include both of Fishers' accusers.

The former Chillicothe High School principal has been indicted on seven counts of sexual battery against two former students.

But attorney Brad Koffel said that would be prejudicial against Fisher, because though both cases involve 17-year-old female students, several other aspects are very different.

Judge Mike Ater allowed the defense, and prosecutor Matt Schmidt, to submit relevant statements for 21 days.  But this could push back the trial date, which Ater said he had "aggressively set" to run the week of June 25th.
