The renovations to the entrance of Mary Lou Patton Park in Chillicothe is likely to receive a financial boost. Chillicothe Mayor Luke Feeney has requested that a City Council Committee appropriate $20,000 from the Unappropriated Parks and Rec Capital Fund to be use toward the project.

If approved, the $20,000 appropriation would fully fund the project. The total cost for the renovations will be $35,000.

Clint Boggs with Parks and Recreation says work has already begun on the park entrance, but it has been slowed due to recent weather.

The Scioto Youth Baseball League has contributed a total of $5,000 to the project to be doled out in two payments of $2,500. An additional $3,000 has been donated by Homeland Credit Union.

Donations are still being accepted to add on to the work already taking place. If you'd like to donate to the Mary Lou Patton Park Renovations, simply contact the Chillicothe Parks and Recreation Dept.
