The future of the now-closed Chillicothe Yard Waste Disposal Site on Renick Avenue is before city council. Mayor Luke Feeney says he has presented council with options on how to get the site cleaned up.
Feeney says the problem could cost the city between $50,000 to $100,000 as the years of yard waste build-up has not only seen piles of organic material, but also items such as appliances and old furniture thrown in.
The mayor says once the site issue is cleaned up, it could be reopened, but would have to be managed much tighter than in years past.
