Winter Reconnect Order Keeps Needy Ohioans Warm

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio is reminding residents of a program designed to maintain electric and natural gas service throughout the winter season.

As bitter temperatures take over Ohio, the PUCO is reminding residents of the Winter Reconnect Order. Spokesperson, Matt Schilling says the program helps people reconnect heating sources or avoid a pending disconnection.

"You can pay just $174," said Schilling. "It doesn't matter how much money is owed to the utility."

Any customer of a PUCO-regulated electric or natural gas utility may take advantage of the order now through April 13, 2018.

228,000 Ohio utility customers utilized the service during the last winter heating season.
