Chillicothe Police were called to the scene of an attempted theft at an area church on Tuesday.
According to a Chillicothe Police report, an officer was called to the Glorious Church of God in Christ on West Main Street early Tuesday morning after a church employee reported they had found an air conditioning unit ripped from one of the church’s windows. The employee also informed the investigating officer that a second window of the church was also broken out. The culprit, however, was unable to complete the theft of the air conditioner. The employee believes the unit proved too heavy for the thief to lift and was thus left at the scene.
It does not appear anything was taken from inside the church.
