Chillicothe To Host Halloween Fest

The City of Chillicothe will hold its inaugural Halloween Festival from Friday, October 13th to Sunday, October 15th in Yoctangee Park. "We're welcoming everyone, so dress up, come down, and check out the food and vendors," said Gene Betts, Tourism Specialist for the Ross-Chillicothe Convention and Visitors Bureau.

"We've got paranormal researchers coming in, a UFO-ologist, bands, a carnival with rides, authors, and more."The Halloween Festival will also feature three different contests for festival goers to compete in.

"We're going to have three contests. The first is a Coffin Race. It's a soapbox derby type race, so no motorized vehicles. The second is a costume contest with two different divisions; one for adults and one for children. And then we're also going to have a pumpkin carving contest," said Betts.

To register to enter one, or more, of the Chillicothe Halloween Festival contests, applications with instructions can be downloaded at chillicothehalloweenfestival.com
