Massie Has Way with Panthers in 55-6 Win

In a match-up of former SCOL teams, the Clinton-Massie Falcons ran away with a victory Friday night over the Miami Trace Panthers 55-6.

The Falcons scored on seven of their eight drives in the ballgame. Christian Poynter scored four first half touchdowns on two runs of one yard, one from 3 yards out and another from 40 yards out. Clinton-Massie led at the half 41-0.

Massie got the second half kick which was ran back to mid field before Poynter scampered 33 yards to make it 48-0. Miami Trace finally got into the scoring column when Branden Arledge hit Coby Hughes for a 50 yard touchdown. That was the only score for the Panthers. The Falcons were able to score twice more in the second half to take the home the victory.

After only accumulating 35 total yards in the first half the Panthers finished with 117. Brady Wallace had 14 carries for 64 yards. Brandon Arledge was 4-17 for 82 yards and a touchdown and Hughes caught two passes for 51 yards and the Panthers lone score.

Miami Trace had 343 total yards. Christian Poynter led the way with 160 yards on 11 carries and 5 touchdowns. Grant Rudy had 108 yards on 6 carries and a score.

 The Panthers fall to 0-4 on the season while the Clinton-Massie Falcons move their record to 4-0.
