Talk show host, former politician, and possibly future politician Jerry Springer was in Chillicothe Thursday night. “Right now, we have a government in Washington that is not particularly friendly to us,” said Springer addressing about a hundred Democrats, “So what are we going to do here in the state to guarantee that all our citizens have health care, all our citizens have a slot to a good education.”
Springer sounded like a candidate, so is he running for governor? Springer says he doesn’t know yet, “Obviously it’s been brought up to me a million times so I’m thinking about it now and I have to make a decision in the next month or so.”
Springer spoke at a Ross County Democratic Party fundraiser at the Scioto Township Hall Thursday night. Four Democrats have officially entered the 2018 governor’s race. Former Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray continues to say “no comment” on his intentions for the governor’s office amid speculation he’ll be losing his job in Washington as the first director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau under the Trump administration.
