The Jackson Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a plane crash that occurred shortly before noon Wednesday.
A single engine Cessna 172 being piloted by 26 year old Stephen Dawson of Louisville, Kentucky crashed near Loop Road north of Wellston at 11:50 AM. Dawson says he was doing an aerial gas pipeline inspection when he lost power to the engine. The plane hit an incline on the west side of Loop Road, jumped across the road and struck a wire fence, coming to a rest on it's landing gear.
Dawson was flown to a Huntington West Virginia hospital, but his injuries were reported an non-life threatening. A passenger was taken to Holzer Medical Center for minor injuries.
The F.A.A. has been called in to continue the investigation into the plane crash.
