The Chillicothe Paints closed out their home schedule on the short side of a see-saw battle with Champion City Friday, falling 7-6 in 10-innings.
Louis Miceli (SUNY Brockport) opened the 10th inning with a solo homer to give Champion City what they needed for the win.
The Kings got on the board first scoring twice in the 2nd inning, but Chillicothe knotted the game at 2-2 on run scoring singles by Dallas Hall (Miami) and Tyler Cowles (Ohio State).
Champion City battled back with three more runs in the 4th inning for a 5-2 lead. Neil Lambert (Triton) reached on an error in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring Ben Aslett (UT Martin) to cut the margin to 5-3.
Nick Kamrada (Ohio) gave up the five runs over 5-innings work. Ross Thompson (Capital) gave up just a hit in the eight batters he faced. Zach Harvey (Rio Grande) pitched into the 10th allowing two runs on three hits to suffer the loss.
The Paints grabbed a 6-5 lead in the 6th. Michael Ryan (Toledo) led off the inning with a triple and scored on a wild pitch. Hall doubled home Drake Peggs (Eastern Michigan) and Lambert scored on a single by Cowles.
The Kings tied the game in the top of the 8th to force the extra frame for the game winner.
Chillicothe (28-31) travels to Springfield to close out the regular season with Champion City (29-28).
