Assistance is available for locals who need help with their home cooling costs. Officials with Ross County Community Action and the Ohio Development Services Agency say the the Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program runs until August 31.
The program provides eligible Ohioans assistance paying an electric bill or assistance paying for central air conditioning repairs. Eligible customers may also receive a portable air conditioner or fan.
