A man who barricaded himself in a group home on Church Street surrendered without incident after two hours Monday morning.
The Chillicothe Gazette reports police were called to 447 Church St. about 9:30am. Public Information Officer Bud Lytle said contractors reported a man coming out with guns and a bottle of whiskey.
The building was partly evacuated as were nearby houses, while resident 28-year-old Lucas Jackson remained upstairs and refused to come out.
A Highway Patrol negotiator talked him into surrendering about 11:45. There were no reports of gunfire.
Jackson was convicted in 2011 of having weapons while intoxicated.
