Second-half real estate tax payments for Ross County are due Friday, July 7. With the due date quickly approaching, County Treasurer Jerry Byers is reminding taxpayers that missing the deadline will mean paying more. Ohio law requires the treasurer to charge a 10% penalty on all payments received after the due date except for payments that are postmarked by the due date.
Taxpayers are asked to contact the treasurer’s office if they have changed their mailing address or have not yet received their bill. Taxpayers who receive a separate manufactured home statement have until July 31 to complete those payments.
The treasurer’s office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday except holidays. The office will also remain open until 6:00 p.m. the final week of the real estate tax collection, which ends July 7th. The treasurer’s office will be closed Tuesday, July 4, due to the holiday.
The treasurer’s office is located in the Ross County Courthouse.
