The Chillicothe Paints took on the West Virginia Miners, Tuesday evening, at VA Memorial Stadium. In a game that lasted 2 Hours 44 minutes, the Paints defeated the Miners 13-4.
The Paints were the first to score with two runs in the bottom of the 1st and one in the 2nd to have a 3-0 lead over the Miners until the 5th inning. The Miners got on the board with two runs in the top of the 5th, but the Paints added three more runs in the bottom of the 5th for a 6-2 lead. The Miners brought one runner home in the 7th. The Paints had a strong 8th inning bringing seven runners across home plate for a 13-3 lead. The Miners scored once more in the top of the 9th, falling to the Paints with a 13-4 final score. Chillicothe had 13 Runs 14 Hits and 1 Error while West Virginia had 4 Runs 8 Hits and 3 Errors.
The Paints (13-6-0) will take on the Miners (8-10-0) again Wednesday, at VA Memorial Stadium, with first pitch at 7:05 PM.
In other games, Champion City took down Butler 9-8 and Terre Haute beat Quincy 6-5. The game between Kokomo and Lafayette was postponed. No date was given for a make-up game.
