Paints Suffer 5-4 Loss at Home Against Kings

The Chillicothe Paints (10-6-0) played the Champion City Kings (8-7-0) Friday evening, at VA Memorial Stadium. In a game that took 2 hours 36 minutes, the Paints fell to the Kings 5-4. 

The Paints were the first on the board scoring one run in the 2nd inning and again in the 3rd. Chillicothe was able to hold a 2-0 lead over the Kings until the 7th. The Kings brought two runners home in the top of the 7th, but the Paints brought one home in the bottom of the inning, to stay ahead by one run. Champion City brought two more runners across home plate in the 8th, while Chillicothe had one runner cross home to tie the score at 4. The Kings were able to get their final run in the 9th, but the Paints couldn't pass home again in the bottom, falling to the Kings 5-4. The Paints had 4 Runs, 7 Hits and 1 Error while the Kings had 5 Runs, 7 Hits and 2 Errors.

The Paints will take on Terre Haute (7-9-0) Saturday evening, at VA Memorial Stadium, with first pitch at 7:05 PM.

In other games West Virginia beat Terre Haute 7-6, Quincy took down Springfield 13-11 and Kokomo topped Butler 4-3. The game between Danville and Lafayette was postponed to the 23rd.
