The Chillicothe Paints took on the Champion City Kings at Davidson Stadium, in Springfield, Thursday evening. In a game that took 3 hours 2 minutes, the Paints beat the Kings 6-5.
The Paints got their first run in the 1st inning where the Kings achieved 3 runs to take an early lead. The Paints put a run on the board in both the 2nd and 3rd innings to tie the Kings 3-3. Neither team scored in the 4th and the Kings took in 1 run in the 5th. Neither team could bring runners home in the 6th or 7th, but the Paints tied the score with 1 run in the 8th, to make the score 4-4. The Paints brought two runners across home plate, to take a 2 point lead in the 9th. The Kings could only bring one runner home in the bottom of the 9th, falling to the Paints 6-5. The Paints had 6 Runs, 13 Hits, and 1 Error while the Kings had 5 Run, 9 Hits and 1 Error.
The Paints (10-5-0) will travel back to VA Memorial Stadium for Friday's home game against the Kings (7-7-0), with first pitch at 7:05 PM. The Paints will stay home Saturday to take on Terre Haute (7-8-0).
In other games the Miners beat Terre Haute 17-8, Butler took down Kokomo 5-1, Danville topped Lafayette 8-4, and Quincy defeated Springfield 5-4.
