The Chillicothe Paints played the Champion City Kings, at VA Memorial Stadium, Saturday evening. In a game that took 3 hours 30 minutes to play, and went for 11 innings, the Paints held a 4-1 lead over the Kings until the top of the 9th inning.
The Paints scored once in the 1st inning and brought 3 runners home in the 3rd. The Kings remained scoreless until the 5th, bringing a single run across home plate. Neither team scored again until the Kings brought home 3 runners in the 9th inning, tying the score at 4. The Kings were able to score once in the 11th while the Paints couldn't pass home plate again, falling to the Kings 5-4.
The Paints (7-4-0) will play the Kings (6-5-0) again Sunday on the road at Davidson Stadium, in Springfield. They will stay in Springfield to take on the Kings Tuesday, before heading home to play Terre Haute, Wednesday evening.
In other games Layfatte beat Quincy 6-5, Butler topped Danville 16-14, Terre Haute defeated Springfield 14-9 and West Virginia took down Kokomo 7-5 in 10 innings.
