Paints Defeat Miners 6-3 at Home

The Chillicothe Paints (6-1-0) were home at VA Stadium hosting the West Virginia Miners (1-6-0), Tuesday evening. The Paints defeated the Miners 6-3 in a game that took 2 hours 27 minutes to play.

The Miners were first on the scoreboard bringing in the only run in the 1st inning. Both teams scored one run in the second giving the Miners a 2-1 lead headed into the 3rd. The Paints rocked the inning bringing three runners across the plate to take a 4-2 lead into the 4th inning, where neither team could cross the plate. The Paints added a single in the 5th, with the Miners adding one in the top of the 6th. Chillicothe took the final run of the night in the 7th inning and held onto their 6-3 lead to finish the game. West Virgina had a total of three runs, and seven hits with three errors. Chillicothe had six runs, with 8 hits and only two errors.

The Paints and Miners will play again Wednesday with first pitch at 7:05pm at VA Memorial Stadium.

In other games the Champion City Kings took down the the Butler Bluesox 5-3, the Lafayette Aviators beat the Kokomo Jackrabbits 2-1, the Springfield Sliders topped the Danville Dans 8-7, and the Terre Haute Rex beat the Quincy Gems 6-4.
