Chemical Leak Closes Road in Pickaway County

The Pickaway County Sheriff's office has confirmed that part of State route 207 in Pickaway County, near Deer Creek Lake, is closed due to a chemical leak.

10TV is reporting the Pic-A-Fay Fire Department told them that a tank filled with anhydrous ammonia fell from a trailer causing a large leak. Farmers are known to use this type of ammonia as a fertilizer.

They also spoke with Pickaway County EMA Director David Conrad who stated that most of the content did spill, which was approximately 850 gallons of fertilizer, and that hazmat crews will be cleaning the site Friday night.

No one was injured and no one has been evacuated from the area.
