Learn about a shy and enigmatic little native bird in the monthly meeting of the Scioto Valley Bird & Nature Club Monday. Fourth year undergraduate student at Ohio University Gabriella Lindsey will present “Habitat Use and Migratory Timing of Henslow’s Sparrows in Southern Ohio.”
The meeting starts at 6:30pm on April 22nd, in Room 110 of Bennett Hall at Ohio University Chillicothe. The public is welcome.
Back by popular demand is their dinner before the meeting, a great way to hang out with club members, and speakers who often join in. They will meet at the Western Avenue Bob Evans after 4:30.
As noted in the newsletter, this month’s meeting coincides with Earth Day, when more than a billion people celebrate the day to protect the planet from things like pollution and deforestation. The official theme this year is “Planet vs. Plastics.”

- April is the time to begin thinking about hummingbirds, as they are to arrive around the middle of the month in our area.
- A visit to Millers State Nature Preserve near Rainsboro in the Rocky Fork Gorge.
