First Ward representative Lisa Bennett is one of the new members of Chillicothe Council, like council president Kevin Shoemaker. I spoke with her after the last council session to allow her to introduce herself.
She says she is excited with new growth and things happening, and wants to be part of them. The Republican is retired from teaching at Allen Elementary.
Bennett says she brings energy, is a great listener and communicator, and wants to get the city’s needs met.
The First Ward is the far the west end of Chillicothe, encompassing Western Avenue west of Woodbridge Avenue and University Drive, Plyley’s Lane, Brewer Heights, Hesswood Hills, and the Stonebridge Drive area (though there are many exclusions on western Western Avenue - also, North Fork Village and Sunrush / Waynewood are not inside the city).
