Ross County Grand Jury, December 1st: Setting Fire to Toilet Paper

The Ross County Grand Jury returned all 10 of their cases Friday, December 1st, 2023, with four open for release to the public. From testimony in the the grand jury in one of the cases, according to the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office:

On October 30th, a Chillicothe Police officer responded to the Ross County Service Center at 475 Western Avenue in reference to a possible fire in a bathroom of Job and Family Services.

39-year-old Brandon Garrison of East Fourth Street had locked himself in the bathroom, and the officer could smell smoke. The officer eventually got him to leave the room, and found a smoldering roll of toilet paper there.

Garrison was found to have lighter on him, and was making suicidal suggestions.

For an indictment on fourth-degree arson, Garrison could get up to a year and a half and $5,000 in fines.
