Two area high school basketball teams will compete in the hunt for a boys state tournament bid.
Tonight in Athens at Ohio University's Convocation Center, Waverly meets McClain in a Division II regional semi-final. The game tips at 8:00. The winner advances to Saturday's 4pm regional final.
Waverly High School is offering a pep bus for the game. The school says you can board it at 5pm at the downtown gym. The pep bus will return about 11pm.
In college basketball, Ohio State opens up Big Ten tournament play in Indianapolis, and the Buckeyes face Penn State at 9. In Cleveland, Ohio starts Mid-American Conference tournament play, as they face Ball State.
