Ross County Grand Jury: Attack with a Cross, Drugs Between Cheeks

The Ross County Grand Jury returned all 15 of their cases Friday, with five open.

In one, the Ross County Prosecutor's Office reports Chillicothe police officers responded to a disturbance at East Main and Brownell November 19th. They found 21-year-old Christopher D. Howard of South Hickory Street crouching at the church there, holding a sharp object and threatening to harm himself.

He ran, but fell behind a fence. A pursuing officer jumped on top of him to pin him down, but Howard struck the officer at least three times with the "broken pieces of a wooden cross."

For indictments on assault, Howard could get up to a year and a half and $5,000 in fines.

In another, according to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, Chillicothe police responded to a possible drug overdose September 17th on North Poplar Street. They saw 31-year-old Aaron W. Bobo on a bicycle nearby, who then pedaled away but eventually was stopped.

He finally stopped reaching into his pants after being told to stop, and was detained. He appeared to have something between his buttocks, and when being processed at the jail, he resisted, and papers and a baggie of 0.3 grams of Fentanyl fell out of his pants.

For indictments on possession of Fentanyl and conveyance of prohibited items into a government facility, Bobo could get up to four years and $12,500 in fines.
