Serious Injury in Jackson County ATV Crash

A Jackson County ATV crash left a woman in serious condition about 11pm Friday.

The Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports 27-year-old Mary M. Garber of Oak Hill was driving a Suzuki ATV southeast on Four Mile Road near the intersection of Courtney McCoy Road. She lost control and the ATV overturned into a ditch.

She sustained life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene by Jackson County EMS, and subsequently flown to Saint Mary’s Medical Center by Health Net.

Garber was not wearing a helmet or any type of safety restraint and alcohol is believed to be a factor.

Agencies assisting at the scene were Jackson County EMS, Jackson Fire Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Health Net Aviation, and Mapes Towing.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds riders that ATV’s are not safe for operation on the roadway, and to always designate a driver.
