Ingredients
4 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced
1/4 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
1 package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
Instructions
Cook apples in butter for a couple of minutes. Add brown sugar and cinnamon and cook a couple more minutes.
Stir together cornstarch and water and pour into apple mixture in skillet, mixing well. Cook a minute for sauce to thicken. Cool as you get the puff pastry ready.
Preheat oven to 400.
Unforld pastry and trim each sheet into a square, then cut 4 smaller squares out of each big square.
Spoon apple mixture into center of each square.
Fold over from corner to corner into a triangle, and press edges together to seal. I do this by brushing a tiny bit of water on edges after forming into triangle, then press with a fork. Put on sprayed baking sheet an inch apart.
Bake 25 minutes or until turnovers are puffed and lightly browned. Cool completely before glazing with confectioners’ sugar glaze (1 cup confectioners sugar, 1 tablespoon water, dash vanilla)
