Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday Returns

The State of Ohio will offer a sales tax holiday from August 6th through August 8th, allowing folks to save some money on back to school clothing and supplies.

The holiday waives the State’s use and sales taxes on clothing items, instructional materials and supplies, up to a certain price. That’s $75 or less for clothing items and $20 or less for supplies.

There is no limit on the number of items that can be purchased tax-free, and the incentive is also good for online sales.

State Representative Mark Johnson of Chillicothe encourages families to take advantage of the holiday as pandemic restrictions continue to create a financial challenge for families and businesses.
