U.K. Coronavirus Strain Found in Patient From Ross County

Infectious disease experts say a new highly contagious strain of COVID-19 has reached Ohio.

Over the weekend, the Ohio Department of Health said that the new mutation of the virus had been found in a patient from Ross County.

The more contagious variant of the COVID-19 virus was first discovered in the United Kingdom before spreading to the United States.

There are also confirmed cases of the U.K. strain in other parts of Ohio, with four found in Cuyahoga County, two cases each in Lorain and Medina, one in Hamilton, and one in Portage.
