The Ohio Department of Health said 66 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. That's quadruple the 21-day rolling average.
The state's death toll is at 5,149.
ODH also reported 2,366 cases in that same period, which is a new record for the state. 135 people were hospitalized with 35 admitted to the ICU. Those numbers are above average but not the highest in the past 21 days.
Red Level 3 counties in our area now include Fayette, Highland, Ross, Pike, Scioto, Adams, Madison and Franklin counties.
