Adena Local Schools Delay Open of Fall Classes

The Adena Local Schools are delaying the open of in-person student classes for the fall, to September 8th. The district was to open for fall classes on August 24th.

A district press release says they want more time ensure protective materials are in place and also observe adjustments made by other school districts as they open early.

They also say this will also give them more time to watch numbers for Ross County as there has been a recent increase in positive COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.

The Adena Board of Education has scheduled a special board meeting for August 10th at 6pm where the later class start will likely be discussed. The meeting will be closed to the public due to health concerns but interested parties can watch the meeting live on the district's Youtube channel.
