Fayette County Man Indicted on Felonious Assault Charge

During its Friday session, a Ross County Grand Jury indicted a Fayette County man for felonious assault. According to Investigator Todd Bost, of the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, Travis A. Durst, 30, of Washington Court House, is accused of hitting, threatening, and pushing a female out of vehicle he had been driving along US 23 on May 17. Bost said the victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of head trauma, body fractures, and internal bleeding.

Durst was indicted on a second-degree felonious assault charge, Friday.

Also indicted in separate cases included:

  • Johnathan K. Curtis, 39, of Piqua, for second-degree felonious assault and third-degree abduction;
  • Donnie L. Garrett, III, 22, of Chillicothe, for three counts of improper handling a firearm in a motor vehicle;
  • Matthew C. Nunley, 23, of Chillicothe, for a fifth-degree felony charge of breaking and entering.

All told, the Grand Jury returned 19 indictments, Friday. Four were open.
