Chillicothe's South Watt In Line for New Sidewalk

The City of Chillicothe is preparing to move forward with a sidewalk installation project for South Watt Street.

.

The City will be requesting that the State of Ohio release federal funds for the project under sections of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, the Cranston Gonzales National Affordable Housing Act, and the Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act. This follows an environmental review that shows the project will have no significant impact on the local environment.

.

The funds were allowed during fiscal year 2019. The $115,000 multi-year project will allow for the installation of new sidewalks for pedestrian safety along South Watt Street, between East Seventh Street and Eastern Avenue.
