Piketon Pulls Away from Westfall for Boys SVC Hoops Win

Westfall had only one lead in the game at 3-0, but were tied 11-11 early in the second quarter, before the Piketon Redstreaks pulled away in a 52-25 win, Friday night.

Piketon took a 20-13 lead into halftime, but outscored the Mustangs 21-7 in the third period to blow it open.

Two Redstreaks were in double figures- led by Chris Chandler's 19 points and 7 rebounds, followed by Levi Gullion with 15. Westfall had one man in double figures as Jay Wyman scored 11.

Piketon shot 20/47 from the floor for 43%- including 5/13 from the arc and 7/12 at the charity stripe. Westfall was only 9/33 for a cold 27%- including 4/17 from the arc and 3/4 at the line.

Turnovers killed Westfall, committing 21 while Piketon only had 11. The Streaks edged Westfall 28-24 in rebounding.

Piketon improves to (5-3/8-7) and Westfall drops to (2-6/6-8).
