Gahanna Man Charged in Monday Night Multi-County Police Pursuit

A multi–county police pursuit ended with the arrest of Franklin County man, last Monday, January 13th.

A trooper from the Chillicothe Post initiated a traffic stop on US 23 near Three Locks Road for a moving violation shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Monday night. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit traveled through Ross, Pike, Scioto and Lawrence Counties.

While in Lawrence County on US 52, a tire deflation device was used and successfully struck the right side of the suspect’s vehicle causing the right rear tire to deflate. A Precision Immobilization Technique was conducted and the suspect was stopped on US 52 in Lawrence County.

The driver was identified as Kiyan Stubbs, age 22, of Gahanna, Ohio. Mr. Stubbs was taken into custody without further incident and incarcerated in the Ross County Jail. The total duration of the pursuit was approximately 68 miles and reached speeds in excess of 120 MPH.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the following agencies; Waverly Police Department, Piketon Police Department, Pike County Sheriff’s Office, Scioto County Sheriff’s Office and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
