Circleville Council will soon vote on floating an income tax increase for safety services in November.
Finance Committee chair Barry Keller said everyone regrouped after discussions of a special election for a tax levy were called off in the spring. Union members worked with administration to plan and support another effort for this fall's election.
He said an additional 1/2% income tax, on top of the current two percent, would supplement funding with $1.2 to 1.5 million, and bring staffing back to acceptable levels. Council must pass it by August 7th.
Keller said voters will learn much more in the campaign for it - and that this is absolutely better planned out than the spring attempt.
