Flaget Student Wins Aerie Eagles God, Flag, and Country Speech Competition

Bishop Flaget 6th grader Isabella Flores won the state level Aerie Eagles God, Flag, and Country Speech Competition in the 10-11 year old age group on May 3rd in Zanesville.

Flores’s speech on diversity and unity earned her a $2000 scholarship, $300 cash prize, and a trip to the national competition in Louisville, Kentucky, in July.

Also placing in the state competition were Bishop Flaget 7th grader Haley Laughlin who placed 3rd in the 12-13 age group, and Zane Trace freshman Carmen Corcoran who placed 3rd in the 14-15 age group. Both girls received $100 cash prizes.

All three young ladies competed and won at the district and zone levels, representing the Chillicothe Aerie Eagles.

Flores is the daughter of Helen and Miguel Flores, Laughlin is the daughter of Pat and Tami Laughlin, and Corcoran is the daughter of Dennis and Laura Corcoran.
