Good Neighbors Football Camp Comes to Chillicothe

Our Savior Lutheran Church, a local congregation with a history of community service, announces they will be hosting the Good Neighbors Football Camp for student athletes who currently attend one of the seven Ross County high schools. The camp is being offered at no charge, and space is limited.  Local student athletes should contact their school’s head football coach or athletic director for registration information. The deadline for registration is May 15th.

The camp will be run by Concordia University-Ann Arbor Head Coach Joshua Schumacher, his coaching staff, and senior players.  In addition to helping athletes develop skills and improve teamwork, Coach “Schu” and his staff will connect the lessons learned on the field to service in the community emphasizing Christian faith, character, education, self-discipline and accountability.

-

Students will meet at Herrnstein Field as guests of Chillicothe High School on June 26th and 27th for this two-day event.  On Wednesday, participants will gather for a meal at noon followed by local opportunities for community service.

Our Savior Lutheran Church launched The Good Neighbors Project in 2017 to provide opportunities for service to our neighbors, and to be Christ in word and deed in Ross County, Ohio.  The Football Camp is one way to demonstrate active faith and trust in God.

Applications from local not-for-profit organizations and homeowners with maintenance needs are still available.  Others in the community who wish to volunteer or make donations should contact Deaconess Deanna Cheadle seohiodcs@yahoo.com or call her at 740-775-2470 (office) or 740-804-1026 (mobile). The congregation can be found on Facebook at Our Savior Lutheran Church Chillicothe.
