A bill named after an Ohio State student who was murdered in 2017 by a man being monitored by an ankle bracelet is being reintroduced to lawmakers.

-

The Reagan Tokes Act failed to pass the legislature last year over concerns of its financial impact and because it was brought up too late in the session. Bill sponsors said yesterday they are bringing the bill up earlier to avoid running out of time again.

If passed the new law would address the way the state handles parolee's GPS monitoring and the workload of employees tasked with keeping track of convicted felons post-release.
