Pike County Man Injured in Vinton County Motorcycle, Car Collision

A motorcyclist was flown to a Columbus hospital as the result of a collision involving a motorcycle and car at State Route 93 and State Route 56 in Vinton County, Thursday.

According to the Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Douglas L. Barch, 51, of Waverly was traveling east on Ohio 56 via a 2007 Suzuki when he failed to yield from a stop sign and was struck by a southbound Buick Century traveling along Ohio 93.

Mr. Barch was transported from the scene by Medflight to Ohio State University hospital with incapacitating injuries.

The driver of the Buick, Paige M. Watson, 28, of Ypsilanti, MI, and her passenger, Brian P. McShane, 31, of Ypsilanti, MI, were not injured.
