Byers Retires as Ross Treasurer

Ross County Treasurer Jerry Byers has announced he will retire at month's end (November 30th). The treasurer of 15 years, made the announcement in a prepared press release Monday afternoon.


"It is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement. I love serving as County Treasurer , but there comes a time when you know it's best to move on to the next chapter. I believe now is that time for me", said Byers.


Prior to taking office as Ross County Treasurer, Jerry Byers was the owner-operator of Poppa Dino's, Inc.


As treasurer, Byers initiated tax payments online or by phone, and a direct payment service where tax payments could be deducted from your bank account. He also started a monthly payment program for delinquent taxpayers trying to catch up on their taxes. Byers also established the drive-up tax payment box at the Ross County Service Center.


Byers will join his wife Jacki, who has recently retired, and spend more time enjoying family.
