Annual Larry Cox Turkey Trot to be held Thursday

Fallen Chillicothe Police Officer Larry Cox will be honored Thursday, November 22nd,  through the Larry Cox Turkey Trot. The annual trot takes place on Thanksgiving Day from 9 a.m. to noon, beginning at the Big Lions Shelter in Yoctangee Park. Day of registration begins at 7 a.m.

The run is held each year to honor the memory of Chillicothe Police Officer Larry Cox, who was shot and killed in 2005 while off duty but assisting in a foot pursuit of an armed suspect.

The event is put on by Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers, and funds raised through the event help fund the organization's efforts in helping law enforcement by offering rewards for tips in unsolved cases.
