Chillicothe Council-Member Has High Hopes for Armory

A Chillicothe City Council-member says an effort is underway to bring the old armory back to life in Yoctangee Park. First Ward Council-member Beth Neal is on a mission to see the Yoctangee Park Armory put back into regular use.

Some of the proposed uses for the armory include a business start-up incubator in the basement, a multi-purpose function on the second floor, which includes the gymnasium. Neal also says there has been discussion about a Native American Museum in one of the rooms.

The city has applied for Ohio Capital Fund grants to pay for the renovations, with some of that work already being done by volunteers.
