Tree Trimming Scheduled Along S.R. 788 in Jackson County

Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Jackson County maintenance facility will undertake a clearing project on State Route 788 during the next two weeks, requiring single-lane restrictions and short-term periods of closure.

During the weeks of December 11 and December 18, S.R. 788 will be reduced to one lane between its junction with S.R. 93 at Jackson and at Wellston while crews cut and clear tree branches and limbs along the right of way. Crews will be working at various locations from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day; during which time, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers as needed.

Although the route will be open to traffic, motorists may encounter temporary periods of delay when traffic will be stopped and held while branches are being dropped and cleared. As the intermittent periods of closure will be for a limited duration, there will be no posted detours; however, motorists are advised to expect delays for up to 15 minutes. They are also reminded to exercise additional caution in the work zones.
