AEP Utility Work to Cause Restrictions Along S.R. 32 in Pike County

State Route 32 in Pike County will be restricted Friday, December 8, for utility work by American Electric Power.

Beginning at approximately 9 a.m. and continuing until noon, utility crews will be installing new transmission lines across S.R. 32 near its intersection with S.R. 335 at Beaver. Throughout the morning, the route will be subject to intermittent periods of closure; during which time, traffic will be stopped and held with a rolling road block, and traffic may also be reduced to one lane in either direction while crews are at work.

Then on Friday, December 15, AEP crews are scheduled to be pulling lines across U.S. 23 at various locations between Chillicothe and Waverly. The temporary restrictions and periods of closure will be in effect at any time between 9 a.m. and noon, and traffic will be controlled and maintained by the utility company and law enforcement personnel.

As the intermittent periods of closure on either route will be for a limited duration, there will be no posted detours; however, motorists are advised to expect short-term delays for up to 10 minutes. They are also reminded to exercise additional caution in the work zones.
