The Chillicothe VA Medical Center is partnering with the Red Cross to host a community event to help teach citizens about disaster preparedness, October 19th. It's 5 to 7 p.m. in Building 9 at the VA Medical Center on State Route 104 north of Chillicothe.
Various stations will be set up to teach individuals emergency preparedness such as how to prevent and respond to house fires, hands-only CPR, how to prepare for various disasters from winter storms and power outages to flooding, and much more.
There will also be information on volunteer opportunities with both the VA Medical Center and the American Red Cross. Light refreshments will be available.
