Fertilizer Application Certification Opportunity

Ohio's farmers have until the end of September to get certified on fertilizer application.  OSU Extension Educator Chris Bruynis said it is a requirement for those who apply fertilizer to over 50 acres of cropland.

"We need to make sure that if you need that you have gotten that accomplished," said Bruynis, "or you will not be able to purchase fertilizer beyond that date, unless you have it custom applied."

Bruynis said a training opportunity will be held for Ross County residents next month. It will take place on July 25, 2017, at the Shane Sowers property at 3848 White Road SE.

"We've got a nice plot of corn out there by his shop that we've applied difference sources of nitrogen," said Bruynis.
